Architected as a scalable solution that easily integrates with your current environment
Extends and customizes functionality of Remedy packaged applications
An AR System application is a software tool that tracks data, processes, and issues and AR Platform provides the framework to develop such applications.
Using AR Platform; nonprogrammers can build powerful business Applications
AR System is based on a multi-tiered client/server architecture
Benefits
Superior workflow capabilities enables ultimate flexibility
Empowers business owners to modify solutions to their needs
Fits in with your existing architecture – leverages and extends existing IT investments
Easily deploy applications to Windows, the Web, wireless/mobile devices.
Supports global deployments
AR System Components & Designs:
Forms – Capture and display information
Active Links – Automate user task on clients
Application developers create Active links to automate user tasks on the client.
They are attached to different user actions such as pressing the Enter key in a field, selecting an item from a menu, or clicking a button.
Active links are conditional. They are dependent upon the user’s permission to execute the active link.
Filters – Automate server task such as enforcing business rules
Filters are server objects that automate server tasks, such as enforcing business rules and data integrity.
Reside on the server and execute actions at the server level.
Filters do not require any special type of permission, because they execute at the server level and use the permissions of the Administrator.
Escalations – Automate time driven server task such as event notifications
Escalations automate time-driven server tasks such as notifying a manager when a certain period of time has elapsed and a request has not been resolved.
Escalations are not dependent upon user activities or transactions.
Escalations can be configured to execute based upon:
Intervals of time, Specific dates and times, Days of the week, Days of the month.
Active Link Guides – Contains references to a group of active links
Filter Guides – Contains references to a group of filters
Application – Contains forms common to a specific application
Packing List – Contains bundle of server objects
Menus – Attached to Character fields to make it easier to populate the fields
Groups –Used for granting access control groups permissions to an object
Distributed Mappings – Defines how AR requests are transferred across AR servers
Distributed Pools – Used with Distributed server options to process multiple DSO actions simultaneously.
Communication with AR Server:
RPC Communication
Only through AR API (C/JAVA)
Web Services
Other Benefits
Logical layers
RPC Layer, Data Validation, Encryption, Workflow / business logic / data processing, Database communication.
Multi-platform, Multi-DB support, Browsers
Backward & Forward compatibility
High version API can talk to low version Server
High version Server can process request from low version serve
